Fun in the Sun

Wow...this has been the BEST summer ever! No kidding. Having a baby and not working in the summer equals good times. Have I told anyone lately how much I love the assistant principal work schedule?? It rocks!

Anyway, we joined our friends, Jennifer and Bob, at Grayton Beach and had a blast. We stayed at a beach house w/ our own pool which Elyas absolutely loved. We took him to the beach early in the morning (which helped Jennifer and Bob sleep in a little later w/out having to hear Elyas thumping --he doesn't "crawl"--he literally hops like a bunny and he repeatedly says "da da da" LOUDLY starting around 6:30 am). Here are several shots from our beach trip:

"Hmmm...sand doesn't taste too bad."

Mom gets a break.
Bob gets some practice.
And a big thank you to Jennifer & Bob for being so baby-friendly and inviting us to the beach. We love you guys :)
We had friends who were also vacationing about 10 minutes away from us so we had to stop by for a visit. Jason and Clark enjoyed relaxing after meeting early in the a.m. for a nice, flat bicycle ride.

Elyas had fun playing w/ Natalie and Taylor.

The rest of these are from other "fun in the sun" days.

Mr. Cuteness hangin' in the backyard.
Playing w/ his friend Lefty.

And more fun w/ his friend Townes.

Too cool in his shades.

hmmm...i think this is where he gets his cuteness from...

Visited Nini and Nutmeig for a weekend of fun in the Cherokee mountains (which of course also included a bicycle race).

Had a fun day at the zoo w/ his cousins a few weeks ago.
And last, I will end this w/ a goodbye to our BEST neighbors EVER. The Maupins are moving to Arizona and the Guzaks are serioulsy depressed. Boo hoo hoo. Goodbye Leslie, Jona, Hailey and Parker. We will stay in touch and are hopeful that you will return to Nashville, specifically the Villages of Brentwood neighborhood, to live again in the very near future.
